Display of the Japanese Film landscape
Organziers: Filmuseum Düsseldorf, Embassy of Japan and the Japanese Culture Institution
The Japanese Film Days Düsseldorf is a series of free events that offers visitors insights into the many aspects of Japan’s film landscape. This year the festival revolves around the friendship between Germany and Japan because in 2021 we are celebrating 160 years of German-Japanese relations. For this reason, alongside works by famous Japanese directors such as Hirokazu KOREEDA and Kiyoshi KUROSAWA, the programme also features German films with a Japanese connection, and German-Japanese co-productions.
Unless otherwise stated, all films will be shown in the original Japanese with German or English subtitles or in the original German in the case of German productions.
Details will be announced in late summer.
